John and Michele Helfrich
John and Michele Helfrich are our Quarter Horse faction at Susar Farm. They have two lovely Quarter Horse mares who are sisters and they bring them to Susar to train. After meeting our Desert Arabian horses, John and Michele decided to open their heart and farm to Susar Bint Khedena (KD) who will be a dressage horse for Michele, and the foundation of their SOF breeding program in the future.
Michele is a lifetime rider who is transforming herself from a barrel racer to a dressage rider, and John is becoming a good hunter/jumper rider on his mare Dusty.

John and his mare Dusty Rose have been consistently winning in both tough trail competition in Open Shows and also in jumping. John and Dusty will also being starting dressage in 2006.

Here is Michele riding Masada Fa Khedena (Fabo x Om Khamsa) a 1988 Saqlawi Jedran SOF, Straight Egyptian and non-Nazeer mare. Michele and John have purchased Khedena's 2004 filly Susar Bint Khedena and Michele is getting used to the differences in Arabians and Quarter horses by riding Khedena. Although Khedena had never even seen a horse being ridden before she came to Susar Farm at age 13, she has taken to being ridden and just loves it.
