A Farm Story

Keith Kosel

Keith Kosel has several horses at Susar Farm and has been riding with us for about three years.  Keith started with the Blue List gelding Susar J'El Rabdan (Masada El Rabdan x BDF Jamala Basara), a 1993 Saqlawi gelding, and then added Susar Sareela (Masada El Rabdan x AK Maslaha), a 1996 mare.  He then purchased the Straight Babson Egyptian stallion Mah Sabbah Bedu (Ibn Sabbah Bedu/+ x Bint Roulett) and Nefrett, a Straight Babson Egyptian mare, from Bruce and Diana Johnson in Arizona.  He has bred our co-owned AK Maslaha to Masada El Rabdan for the 2004 Straight Egyptian filly Bint Maslaha and has added another Straight Egyptian *Tuhotmos daughter (Tuzzy) who is now in foal to Masada El Rabdan for a 2006 50% *Tuhotmos foal.

Keith started out riding western exclusively but has since added dressage and Sporthorse to his activities.

Here is Keith showing Susar J'El Rabdan (Jedi) at a Cowtown Classic A show.  Keith and Jedi also show dressage, jump, and do trail events.
Here is Keith with Susar Sareela (Corky) a 1996 Hadban Inzahi mare by Masada El Rabdan x AK Maslaha.  Corky is a 50% *Tuhotmos mare and is a Multi Regional Sporthorse in hand winner. Corky and Keith are shown here with their Cowtown Classic wins for Sporthorse mare, both Amature and Open, and their Championship ribbon for high scoring purbred of the show.
Keith and Jedi enjoy jumping as well as dressage, western, and trail riding.
Keith has become very good at showing Sporthorse in hand and has been very successful showing both his own horses and other Susar horses to numerous Regional wins.  Here Susar El Khamor and Mah Sabbah Bedu are shown shortly after wining Regional top fives in 2005.
Nefrett is a Straight Babson Egyptian mare that Keith bought from Bruce and Diana Johnson and is training western.  Keith and Nefrett have had some good walk trot wins in Open shows as well as some very impressive Trail class wins in very heavy competition.  This is the first horse Keith has trained himself and he is doing a very good job with her.
Keith showed Susar Sareela to Region 9 Sporthorse Mare ATH Championship in 2006.
Keith and Jedi have been doing very well in Trail classes. Here he is shown at the Oct 2006 show in which he won The Institute for the Desert Arabian Horse high point Asil Performance horse trophy.

Susar Farm is the home of beautiful and talented Asil Desert Arabians.
