A Farm Story

Masada Fa Khedena

Fabo x Om Khamsa

1987 saqlawi

When Walter Schimanski realized he was not going to win his battle with cancer, he asked me to take Khedena so that I could further the double *Tuhotmos breedings by breeding her to Tucky and Bucky.  He also asked that I use Khedena to bring younger people into the Sheykh Obeyd fold.  We have done both with Khedena. She has given us two gorgeous filles and a wonderful colt. We are co-owing the fillies with Elizabeth Powell (Masada Susar) and Michele and John Helfrich (Susar Bint Khedena).  Khedena's colt Susar Khamasada is going to be Cyann's show horse.

Here is Khedena with her 2005 colt Susar Khamasada by Susar El Khameen.  Kaz is a pure in the strain saqlawi and he has personality, disposition, and movement to burn.

This is Susar Bint Khedena by Masada El Rabdan.  KD is co owned by John and Michele Helfrich and will be their foundation mare as well as Micheles show horse.

Khedena and her Susar family from left to right, Masada Fa Khedena, Masada Diora (X Fa Asar), Susar Bint Khedena (Masada El Rabdan), Masada Susar (Fa Asar) and Susar Khamasada (XSusar El Khamor).  Khedena's children share beauty, disposition, and intelligence as well as lovely movement.
Masada Susar (Fa Asar x Masada Fa Khedena) is a 2001 mare co-owned by Elizabeth Powell and Susar Farm.  Sada is progressing beautifully as a show horse and will continue in the proud heritage of her breeding eventually.  Sada is training to be a dressage horse.

Khedena was 13 when she came to Susar Farm in 2001.  At that tender age, she had never been ridden, and I seriously doubt she had ever even seen a horse being ridden because the first time I rode up to her on a horse, her eyes about popped out of her head!  Nonetheless, her wonderfully intelligent and kind disposition made her a very easy mare to train.  At this point she is a reliable mount for even an inexperienced rider and she loves to share time with humans.  She especially loves the carrots she gets when she learns new things.
Here is Masada Ben Azi, Razal Ibn Azalia x Masada Fa Khedean, a 1998 gelding owned and loved by Danielle Gatcombe.
Michelle Helfrich showing Khedena in Trail. Michelle and Khedena have had some impressive wins in huge classes. Considering Khedena is a novice show horse, this is a credit to her ability.

Khedena trusting Michelle to not ask her to cross something dangerous.
Here is Masada Diora, a 2000 mare by Fa Asar in her beginning riding lessons. Diora has produced a lovely filly by Susar El Khamor.
