A Farm Story

After a rained out Spring show season we feared we would get rained out again, but Sunday September 26 turned out to be a lovely day for a show and we had a nice turnout.
We are always glad to see our old friends and in Jan Cooper and Addie's case, new friends as well. Jans little grandson Aiden is going to be one of our future champions and we hope Addie will carry him for years to come!
We had a whole bunch of leadline riders at this show and we are so glad to see them as they will be our Walk Trotters next year and our Champions in years to come.
Trail is always a favorite class and this show presented some demanding and fun obstacles.
Hank was not totally sure that he loved the Sombrero but it drug it nonetheless! It is so neat to watch horses and riders progress from green beginners to Champions!
We love to see all of our beautiful Paint Horses! Susar shows are part of the Paint Open Horse Show year end awards, so all of you with Paints can have your wins verified and go for Paint year end awards.
We had the privilege of sponsoring Mustang Rescue by having Maddie Le Clerc and her Mustangs show at Susar. These horses are newly out of the wild and trained, and will compete in Mustang Makeover where they will be auctioned off with the proceeds going to do more Mustang rescue. We were delighted at how well trained and behaved these "wild mustangs" were and were impressed with the job Maddie is doing!
At the end of the day we had lots of winners! Mary Greer was overall High Point champion with an astounding 70 some odd points! Micala Brown was our 12-17 High Point winner for Walk Trot Canter, and we had a tie for adult Walk Trot between Jan Cooper and Chris Bode. Keith Kosel and his mare Binty were Walk Trot Winners! In all, everyone did a fine job!

Susar Farm is the home of beautiful and talented Asil Desert Arabians.
