This is Hafid Lothar (Fa Asar x SMF Pinafore), a Babson/Sirecho gelding with his young owner Caleb Payton. Caleb and his family James and Bonnie live in Arkansas. Caleb has had Hafid for five years and has trained him by himself. Hafid was born at Masada Arabians and represents the wonderful Babson/Sirecho cross. Anne Townsend brought Hafid and Caleb together and the bond between the boy and his horse is evident.
One of the most important aspects of Desert Arabians is their wonderful disposition and trainability. Hafid and Caleb illustrate this beautifully, and I hope they will inspire others to seek the wonderful love that is possible with a Desert Arabians and humans. While showing and proving athletic ability is important, nothing is more important than the keen intelligence and the kind heart that makes the kind of union Caleb and Hafid have possible.
